Hollywood District

One of Portland's most established neighborhoods, the Hollywood district takes its name from the Hollywood Theater, a much-loved and restored art house theater that still retains its orginal 1926 marquee and ornate Spanish Colonial Revival architecture.  Elsewhere in Hollywood, a booming vintage and resale community has blossomed in the area around NE 42nd between Tillamook and Sandy including Antique Alley (2000 NE 42nd Ave.) and kid's resale at Small Fry (4701 NE Tillamook St.).

Arguably one of the loveliest parks in Portland, Grant Park's (NE 33rd at Grant) meandering paths through towering pine trees is a favorite for families who will find plenty of play structures and open lawns. Be sure to seek out the park's bronze sculptures of characters from Portland's beloved children's book author, Beverly Cleary.
